When we first met Ed Colman of Special Productions - the softly spoken Londoner - he mentioned nothing of his musical prowess or discography. He's one of those humble guys on whom you do a G**gle search and you realize after the fact you were dealing with an serious talent who needs only to let his work do the talking.
Ed's studio is, simply put, the best sounding purpose built, domestic music studio we have ever had the pleasure of working in. The audio imaging is incredibly tight and the frequency response is uniform from back to front.
The studio desk Ed asked us to customize is the Middle Eight Keyboard Command. Probably the key, unique feature is the 88 note keyboard has been recessed into the worktop up to the bottom of its keys. The Steven Slate Audio - Raven MTi2 is positioned on a fixed shelf which appears to float above the keyboard.
...And thanks for the photos, Ed. Wow!

Seamless integration of the M-Audio Hammer 88 keyboard. The platform on which the keyboard sits is fixed at a specific level below the height of the desktop so that the key bed is flush with the padded armrest.

We designed and made a pair of speaker risers to bring the tweeters of Ed's near field monitor speakers up to ear height when he sits in the mix position.

You know when you enter a creative space and you feel cool, clam and collected? Ed's space is one of those.
One of the most well endowed production studios on the north side.
